Getting Started Recommendations for Clinical Teams

Welcome! We are glad you are part of the vellum family. Here are some best practice recommendations to get your team started on their well-being journey. Please know that this application was developed for you and your teammates so use this specially created application in the way that makes the most sense to your team.


After you have created your account, and are comfortable with the application and its navigation, check-in for the first time! Whether you use a mindfulness minute or the Huddle as your cue, remember to check-in. You can choose to keep your check-ins to yourself or share with your teammates. It's up to you.


vellum recommends:

1) For the first four weeks post go-live, check-in with your teammates during your shift huddle. We believe this will allow for rapid adoption as you share real-time feelings and make connections with your teammates.


2) In the fifth week, check-in with your teammates prior to the shift huddle or no later than two (2) hours into the shift. If your organization uses a mindfulness minute, then check-in during or after. We believe this will allow for visibility into emotions prior to the shift huddle and allow ample time for connections to be made.


3) At anytime, check-in throughout the day to update how you are feeling and to be mindful of your current emotions. We know that labeling emotions helps build resiliency and awareness.
